One of the few tribal communities living in Wayanad, Northern Kerala.


Paniya means "worker" as they were once sold along with plantations by the landlords. They reside in small village of between 8 and 25 houses. Very few of among them have access to any form of education and their man means of income is subsistence farming and daily wage labor.
